Breast Reductions & Lifts
There are numerous women who just aren’t satisfied with the
shape or size of their breast
and are on the look out for surgery
options. Here we would be telling you what is breast reduction &
lift, what are the different process and bring to your knowledge
the likely risks.
Breast Lift
What is a breast up-lift or medically mastopexy? It is a process
whereby surgery is dine to up-lift or and reshape a woman’s
breast that have drooped. Sagging can happen due to breast-feeding,
pregnancy, or can take place naturally due to old age. The other
effect that could lead to drooping of breast is reduction in the
size of areola that happens to be the dark color skin lying besides
the nipple.
There is no certain size or shape for the breasts it completely
varies from woman to woman. Therefore some breast
surgeries would require a combination of breast implant that
is couple with either a reduction process or an enhancement of the
breast. Once you decide to have a breast surgery your surgeon at
great length will discuss these matter.
Breast Reduction
Incase you want to have a surgery where the size of your breasts
in reduced that too is possible and is termed as reduction mammaplasty.
What the surgeon does is that he shall raise the tissue of the breast
along with the nipple is such a manner that it appears in a young
aged position. What the process does is that if there happens to
be any extra tissue & skin that’s then taken off. Higher
the amount of tissue peeled off better the chances of improved breast
shape.
What Happens?
In both the cases, breast reduction & lift processes anesthesia
is applied. There are various kinds of techniques, which can be
applied. It usually depends on the level of sagging.
A few of the techniques
are:
• Peeling off extra skin from breast bottom & skin next
to the areola.
• Stiffening the skin surrounding the breast
• The pose of the nipple is resize to give it more young aged
position.
• Then breast implants are done to put fresh zeal to the appearance
of the breast.
It is the mark of a fine surgeon
to diminish scar appearance during or after surgery. The ‘anchor’
incision is one way of achieving it.
When an incision in the region of the nipple is need then ‘vertical
mastopexy’ is the preferred choice & it makes
an upright line down the middle of the breast.
For woman having tiny breast along with little drooping breast
then the ‘doughnut’ mastopexy is applied and just a
little part of the skin is peeled off. Where the only cut is made
in the area surrounding areola.
Potential Risks!
The biggest thing one would think are how well the healing takes
place and how well you adjust to the scars. It would be natural
to have scars after a surgery.
It is a rarity for infections and bleeding post breast up-lift,
but in case it takes place then it should be referred to a physician
immediately.
Of the other potential risks is the unevenness positioning of the
nipples thus causing the breast to be not in sync. Lack of sensation
post surgery in the nipples is also a problem that women can face.
Incase you are planning on having kids in the not to distant future
& would like to breast-feed; such an intention must be discussed
with the surgeon before hand. Post
surgery this may cause a hindrance.
